Day 39 - Orange + yellow mani

Late but Im very busy lately :( Well.. Here is my mani:

I really hated the result :( The yellow polish is old and very very thick, barely could make it even - I didnt even succeed! My ring finger is my first attempt at braided nails. Its definitely not perfect but well :)

Polishes I used were:

Viva la Diva 26
China Glaze Hey Sailor
Nordic Cap NP07
Nordic Cap NP12
+ top coat (Matte About You by Essie)

Im going to be busy but Ill do what I can with the summer challenge, hope Im excused :) xx

Swatches!

Long time no see ladies and I apologize for it! Anyways I got myself together and I started swatching my new polishes :) Today you are going to see some of them. In all of the swatches I used 2 coats unless mentioned otherwise.

As first goes Python Green by Gina Tricot. Its a yellow-green nail polish with pearly finish. It is my first pearly finish nail polish cause I like them well.. Not that much ;D

I didnt have a white base underneath just to see how will it look like alone on the nail. It came off more yellow than it is for real. You can see how this polish looks on white base here.

Polish is very sheer, needed 3 coats for this coverage but if I was to wear it, Id use 4 or at least white base underneath. Formula was streaky. Lets end at that :)

Next in the line is Lady Luck by H&M. A golden-green duo chrome with frosty finish. I think H&M was going for a dupe of famous Chanel but they went overboard with green particulates cause the polish is kinda green. Although golden is visible but its very little of it.

As you can see Lady Luck on the nail is teal green with a bit of golden in it. Very hard to see if you ask me.

Formula? Brush stroke-y, a bit runny but ok to work with. Best to apply with 1 or 2 huge strokes on the nail to avoid the visible lines - as in some of nail polishes with frost finish. If you arent careful with it, you may get uneven layers of polish with some sort of pigment lines on the nail. Strange as it sounds I had to re-do 2 of my nails cause I wasnt that careful! Lady Luck wasnt a dupe for Chanel but Im so happy that it wasnt! I happen to have OPI Just Spotted The Lizard so no need of more similar-looking polishes :) Uff I just got the idea of doing a gradient featuring OPI Just Spotted The Lizard and Lady Luck! AWESOME!

Time for nr 310 by Depend. This is a sky blue polish with silver shimmer and foil finish. When I was swatching it the weather changed and the lighting was awful. Pictures are also awful!

I did re-touch them a little to show you the gorgeous color but my pictures just suck so hard. Yeah.

Formula was great to work with, opaque with one coat (hell yeah!). The amount of silver shimmer in it doesnt make this polish easier to photograph so excuse me for the quality. I Guess this polish will be great to stamp with :)

Last but not least is Deep Deep Water by H&M. Glaucous blue (I took the name from wikia~, the color resembles blue berry's skin) with silver shimmer and metallic finish. Another one coater :)

Formula on Deep Deep Water is a bit brush stroke-y, covers the nail in one coat. Another gorgeous color to stamp with. No application problems, also dries fast.

Ill be doing more swatches soon, I have a few more jewels to show off to you :)

Ugly green? Yes, please!

Today I have for ya a bit of an ugly polish to show you. Theres no name of it but a number 321. Its VOLLAGE Cosmetics CITY nr 321. The color is err.. something! I have completely no clue to what does this color resemble!! Anyways here it is:

Pretty cool, huh? Its a jelly so obviously needs at least 2 coats for full coverage but I used 3 coats in all the pictures. Wanted to get the exact color from the bottle :)

I just love it. Its one of those ugly polishes that just makes you drool when you look at them and then you just fall in love with them!
I wouldnt be myself if I didnt try to put something over it so I used one of my new glitters by Miss Selene.

Glitter has no name - OF COURSE - but it has a number: 167. WAIT! There is something stuck to my nail hahaha I just saw it, aw well :) Its golden & green hex glitter in a clear base. Applies gorgeously so easy to build up - if needed.

Too bad there was no sun for me to show you the glitter. My camera would freak out anyways so no point anyways :D

Depend 2031 Lavender - Pic heavy!

Today I have for you a swatch of my first holographic nail polish! I purchased 2 of them and both are Depend. I wasnt sure I liked how the other holo's look in the shadow and here in Sweden we do have sun shining but I cant say its often xD Or well.. it kind of it and it isnt at the same time. Weather changes really fast (I live at the sea) so yeah :) Check out Lavender from Depend:

This polish is very pigmented! Although its kind of sheer, needed 3 coats for full opacity. Formula was very good, with every coat you could easily build up this very cute holo :)

Yes, these pictures are almost identical but who cares, I cant stop staring at my holo <3

Those pictures were taken while it was kind of cloudy but still a bit of shining sun came onto my finger nails. Pictures Im about to show you are taken in full sun but my camera sucks so hard so it doesnt show this awesome little rainbow well :( Anyways, here they are:

Did what I could with the pictures, couldnt really capture the holo of this polish.

If you were bored enough and read what I wrote in the beginning of my post, you remember that I said I didnt buy holo's before cause I didnt like how dull they looked when it isnt sunny outside. Im going to show you the reason why I bought Lavender and .... I wont say, can not spoil the suprise! ;D

Isnt it so, so, so pretty??? Of course it is! I took this picture when it just stopped to rain so no sunny weather but still this polish rocks! Look how gorgeously this shines! Like it has sh*t loads of kind-of-silver shimmer in it! Whoops, pardon my french :)

If I was to give it a grade from 1 to 10 this polish would get 10. This one has absolutely no cons for me. I suppose there are holo's that shimmers really pretty in the sun and more than this one but I wanted polish that will be pretty when Im indoors as well :)

12 July 2012

Brought some sky down my nails.

My friend asked me to do a mani with sky theme and since I wanted to try it myself since like forever, I did it. Not to bore you with my thoughts, Ill just show you how it ended up:

I had an excuse for using my lovely Jessica King Tut's Gem once again ( I did use it herehere or here). I just love this blue, its very opaque and very well pigmented. I really like the result :)

Polishes I used were:
Jessica King Tut's Gem
Broadway Nails Nail Art Paint White

Day 34 - Pink + purple mani

Aw purple, my favorite color! :) I wont babble so onto the mani:

You may ask yourselves "What? Is that it?" Hell yeah! I like it this way, its very summery and those pictures doesnt show how nice and bright the colors are for real. Well, well, I do like to make my life easier :)

The polishes I used were:
H&M Coral
H&M Purple

I recommend using double layer of base coat when you will be using H&M nail polishes, they stain like crazy :( Other than that I like them, always very pigmented.

You my lovely readers should check out list of girls taking part in Summer Challenge - maybe

Summery gradient with Gina Tricot, H&M and Depend. PIC HEAVY

Yes, another gradient. I recently purchased some cute babies that Ill show off soon enough but today Ill be showing you a gradient made out of 3 new polishes that I got. Gina Tricot not that long ago came up with their own line of cosmetics. I dont really use any make up products beside mascara and a lip gloss so cant say if those at Gina Tricot are good or not. I did try their nail polish and I have to say WOW!, their shades are very pigmented and eye catching! Ill be swatching all of the new polishes I got once I find some free time (I have a little summer break approaching so I guess that will be the time). Onto the mani now:

I had to take this picture in the shadow to show the true colors of the polishes I used. All of the polishes are either foil-y or shimmery so I really couldnt take a picture in direct sunlight - which I tried of course - and this picture you are going to see next.

This is the closest to the direct sunlight I could get without my camera freaking out while getting the picture. As you can see the shimmers are visible on this picture although only both of the blues are foily or shimmery (I cant say). The freakish yellow, which I fell in love with the second I saw it, is a bit neonish but with pearly finish. This is my Gina Tricot yellow and FIRST EVER nail polish with pearly finish. I just love it. Actually I cant wait to wear it all alone on my nails :)

As Im who Im, I couldnt "not try" to matte my mani. I really wanted to see how it looks. I love the colors that I got by doing gradient with 2 blues and one yellow polish.

I love how the yellow and sky blue polish got mixed together and I got some sort of teal-blue greenish shade in there!

Polishes I used were:
H&M Deep Deep Water
Depend 310
Gina Tricot Python Green
Essie Matte About You
+ top coat

How did you like it? Did you ever try Gina Tricot or H&M nail polishes, if so, how were they?

Day 32 - Get those embarrassing toes out!

Soooo.. Day of the challenge I'd love to skip if you ask me but what the hell! Time to get my toes out!

Tadah! Well, nothing to be proud of. I did a delicate dotticure with some nude color for base that has no name but I know is from Depend and Nordic Cap NP07 which you can see here. Of course the dots are.. clumsy haha :) We ladies know how strange positions we find ourselves in when it comes to fix a pedicure! (and I mean when we do it ourselves) Not to babble more here are the polishes I used.

Polishes I used were:
Nordic Cap NP07
Depend ?? (the number went off so I cant say)
+ top coat

I know this isnt much but well. Felt so lazy when I did this that I cant complain how it turned out :)

4 July 2012

Summer Challenge day 26 and nail art!

Euro 2012 football nails! Since Ive done this mani before and you can check it out here if you wish to, I swacthed one of the Nordic Cap nail polishes I bought before. Today you are going to see this gorgeously bright orange! I also did some nail art with it so just keep on scrolling down the page :)

The formula is very weird, its good to work with - not too streaky, not too thick but it absolutely doesnt remind me of nail polish! Its a bit like some sort of a oily paint :D Not sure why it is this way but its really easy to work with on the nail plus its fully opaque in one coat. So far I tried a bit all of my Nordic Cap polishes and every single one of them has this strange formula. They are nice at all.

What could I say more about this polish? Its very hard to capture its true color in the camera. Its a bit of neon-ish on the nail although its darker than my true neon orange. Its like something between neon and normal, bright orange creme.

On this picture you can see for yourselves how bright and strong pigmented this polish is. I have to say the price is also very suitable - read cheap! I dont think its available outside Sweden.

Onto the nail art then!
Since I wont be doing Independence day mani I did one I wanted to try since I first saw this kind of thing! I completely dont know how to call this mani (Id like to add a label for anybody that would like to check it out and find it easly) so I came up with "almost reggae nails" yes its ridiculous but I suck so badly at finding names for things and animals :|

Although its not made with strict red, yellow and green polish it kind of reminds me of reggae colors. Its was my first attempt at doing this kind of mani.. Whats the name of it? Chevron? Not sure really so please excuse me. Yes, I is crazy.

Polishes I used were:
Nordic Cap NP07
Nordic Cap NP08
Orly mini Lemonade
+ top coat

How did you like it?
